a-Maine-zing!

Mokey and her best friend, Zeus, on a boat ride to Portland, Maine.

For the last two and a half weeks I have escaped almost all responsibility by staying in the beautiful town of Small Point, Maine. Mokey and I drove up in the Jeep in the middle of August to spend some time in a bungalow by the sea. Our days were filled with outdoor excursions and seafood. We waded in the ocean daily, jogged through forests, climbed cliffs, and attended beach bonfires. I learned that wet sand lights up when you stomp on it, how to dig for clams, and that days are planned around the tide schedule and not the clock. Small Point is one of the most beautiful places I have visited.

Seguin Island with fog. This is the view from the bungalow's deck. We took a boat ride there and spent the day in the sun at the foot of a lighthouse.

Big Beach at high tide. This view is from the cliff path.

The cliffs. We scaled down for some great wave watching.

Some big waves during a windy day. We are at the "point" of Small Point.
