For the past year, I've been toying with a children's book concept. It was something I was very passionate about, but I kept reservations. Well now, everything is falling in to place. Weirdo is going to be my side project during my travels with World Eye. I'm very excited about the stories to come over the next two or three years.

Thanks and Wanderlust.
This morning, I found out I'll be leaving the US for the next two years. I'll be joining World Eye Reports and traveling to countries all over the world for 15 weeks at a time, for 11 months out of the year. I'll be an international traveling saleslady.
There are so many thoughts racing through my mind- mostly anticipation and happiness. Since I was in elementary school I wanted to be a lawyer specializing in international business- but what that really meant to my 12 year old self was the ability to travel all over the world. I got to college and took one poli-sci class and I hated it. My potential legal career was over by first semester and I majored in psychology. One and a half years after graduating, I will be leaving the US to do some international business through journalism and advertising sales.
I would never have this opportunity if I hadn't met my friend at the dog park 2+ years ago. She told me about this position years ago but I had too many commitments and timing was not right. I never forgot about the company and the adventure I knew it could offer. This fall, after having some work experience and craving for some travel, I pursued World Eye Reports and Tanya was there to help me along the way.

I never would have been able to take this position if I didn't have the friends and family that encourage, support, and love me every day.
I will forever be grateful to the Hoffmans for treating me like family, offering guidance, building my ego so that I believe I can do whatever I want to do, and loving my dog as much as I do. My first year after college was a smooth transition to the real world because I had quality support from them.
I have spent the last three years in DC with my wonderful roommate/best friend/sister, Vasilika. I'm so grateful that she listens to all my self-doubts, insecurities, and stupid mistakes, and she still has the ability to reassure my sanity and confidence. She is the greatest friend and I'm going to miss being around her.
I think a certain type of person is able to commit to 2 years of constant traveling, writing, and schmoozing with completely different people every day. I'm thankful that my Nana instilled in me the importance of independence, adventure, diversity, etiquette and academics. Without these qualities, I would not have the confidence to succeed abroad for a few years. These abilities are what have kept me driven and motivated. I have a world of possibilities because my Nana believed that I could do anything and gave me the space to try on my own.
...and there's Mokey. In a way, she enabled me to find World Eye Reports. She's enhanced my life in incredible ways. She's the best animal friend anyone could ask for. I'm so lucky to have a sweet and loving dog. When I get back, there is no doubt that she'll be wagging her tail and ready for a belly rub like I just gave her one the day before.
I leave in the middle of January, the dead cold of winter, to the sunny and warm Philippines. There is so much to take care of in the next three months. I will be making trips to North Carolina, Florida, New York/New Jersey, Texas, and slowly saying goodbyes to everyone in DC. I can't wait to go abroad in January, but this new adventure starts now and I need to make the most of it. The pressure is on, but I think I can handle it.
The blog will be back up and running. There's so much going on and I don't want to forget any of it. I want to share my new vagabond life with my family and friends. Let my opportunity be yours.
