Sunny Day in Hong Kong

I've been a bit grumbly about the constant drizzle and lack of sunshine in Hong Kong, but today was GLORIOUS. It was the first hot day of the year- thank goodness it was a Sunday and the skies were clear. I tried to make the most out of my free day.

Casey, Hong Kong friend/partner-in-crime
I woke up and went on my long run. I ran along a new route that borders the water.

Between the fog/pollution, you usually can't see the mountains on the other side of the harbor.
Tiny island in the harbor.
My path took me through a cemetery. There were thousands of tombs lined up and down the hill.

Just a small section of the cemetary.

I took the bus back home, showered, and headed to my friend's place in my neighborhood. The view from his balcony was twice as beautiful with the blue sky.

We got in a taxi and took it 20 minutes to South Bay Beach. We stayed long enough to watch the sunset. The crowd left and we had the beach to ourselves, nothing but waves breaking on the shore, a few stars, and the outline of Ocean Park's amusement rides on the horizon.

South Bay Beach.
Hong Kong is a beautiful city of contrasts. Crowded city and isolated beaches.
